4U was constructed of 4 parts, these were fastened by dovetail and tab-and-slot joints. Kerf cuts were also designed onto a single piece of plywood body, allowing multiple living hinges and 4 filleted rounded corners. This softened 4U with a continuous visual flow and reduced the need for glueing.
